The First Ever WCA Cornhole Tournament

The weather was gorgeous and the competition was fierce! Thanks to the nearly 50 WCA members and guests who attended the first ever WCA Cornhole Tournament in Raleigh, NC on Thursday, May 13th. 20 two-person teams competed on 4 cornhole lanes using custom cornhole boards featuring the logos of the event sponsors. While gas may have been tough to find, it didn’t prevent us from holding a great event and it was great to see people have a chance to get together and enjoy each other’s company.

When the dust settled, the finals of the tournament featured a showdown between the team from Guaranteed Supply Company (Richie Rhew and Scott Ward) vs the team from Capital Restorations (Tyler Brickhouse and Kyle Ray). Congratulations to Richie and Scott for pulling out the win.

A special thank you to all our sponsors for the event: White Cap, Mapei, Anderson Jones, Coastal Construction Products, Inc., Drake Building Maintenance, Guaranteed Supply Co., RSG Building Solutions & Styro Systems.

A Very Special Presentation:

During the event, the WCA took the opportunity to make a very special presentation to a long-time member of the Association. Don “Cotton” Coltharp from Pecora was granted Honorary Lifetime Membership in the WCA. In the 50 year history of the WCA, Cotton is only the 10th person to be granted Lifetime Membership. His dedication to the Association and the industry are well known by those who know him. Our president, DJ White made the presentation along with Pecora’s Andy Bell. Congratulations to Cotton on a very well deserved honor.
